NEW VISTAS

AUGUST 2024

So I’m working on a new world as I write this. Big surprise, I know, right? One thing that keeps me going on such projects and ventures is that the whole process is still so entetaining and positive. If it ever got too grueling or unrewarding I’d certainly be less inclined to continue, but that hasn’t been the case yet and so I keep writing and creating. And as I work on this new venture I’m also peering into the months ahead and the year to come (which I also usually do at this time) to prepare for what’s just around the bend.

As such, I thought it could be fun to share a peek at what is in store in terms of new titles and works hitting sites and shelves in the time ahead. As you may know, there will be another book releaseing in 2025 for the Sojourners’ Saga trilogy. The cover has been finished and the text has just been proofed a couple weeks ago. I’ll have one more pass at it once the final layout is finished and the final edit conducted but it essentially is finished and ready to go to press. Slated for a May release we’ll probably be making more noise about it toward the end of the year—around September or October, I’m guessing.

The third volume in the trilogy will be out in 2026. It too has been written and is in the process of having the cover drawn as we speak. And it should be headed to the editor in short order, bringing that series neatly to a conclusion.

The next thing to release in 2025 will be that graphic novel listed in the works page. This is to be a prequel to the Wizard King Trilogy and is working its way through the final art process as I type this post. With the line art done we’ll then be able to head to the coloring and lettering and really get things finished up for the 2025 debut, just in time for the five year anniverasry of the series.

And then, let’s not forget the final title to release this year—Rainier’s Legacy. It should be finishing up at the printer by the time of this post goes live and probably even working its way to the various warehouses and stores as well. So look for it in stores toward the end of September or better still preorder a copy before then—in print, digital, or audio.

I’ve really been happy with the whole process thus far as this is the first short story collection to be published with Dark Horse and a chance to showcase some other aspects and elements tied to Tralodren that haven’t been able to be expressed and explored yet with previous publications. The layout is incrediable and the stories a nice mix of flavors that will serve to both introduce as well as entertian folks looking to explore Tralodren for the very first time or are eager for another visit.

In short, the next few months and year are going to be rather busy but also exiciting with new releases and other insights I look forward to sharing down the road. For now, though, I’m eager to return to that new world setting and hammering down more planks and structures to get things fully finished so I can start telling tales and sharing them with you.

Have a great rest of your summer. Maybe I’ll see you on the tour that kicks off next month—if not, then we’ll connect in the next post for sure...
